Welcome to f22 Photography Workshops
f22 landscape photography workshops are based in the Peak District, Derbyshire. This area is one of three main locations where our photography courses run. The other two workshop locations are the Malvern Hills, which intersect the three counties of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire and the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Three unique areas of outstanding natural beauty that have attracted artists and photographers for decades.
All courses are led by Neil Atkinson, a professional photographer, who has a proven track record of success through publications, websites and academic application. Neil's passion for the visual arts is infectious and in 2010 he decided he would like to pass on his working knowledge of photography to others.
I was spending a lot of free time visiting and photographing in some stunning locations and witnessing incredible lighting conditions. Occasionally I would see the the odd person out walking and they would inevitably ask me what I was photographing? What camera I was using? and why I had so many filters attached to my lens?
I found that I enjoyed answering questions about my photography and the equipment I was using. The people I spoke to were very responsive to my answers so I decided that teaching photography might be something I could pursue. I began to run photography workshops on an individual one-to-one basis for clients in the west midlands. Since then the demand for workshops has increased and I have added one day group workshops, weekend workshops and short holidays.
All courses are designed to help individuals learn more about their digital SLR cameras. All technical aspects of digital photography are covered during the workshops and explained in 'jargon free' terms. Questions are welcomed at any point throughout the day. Workshops also focus strongly on composition - how one composes a scene through the viewfinder is an integral part of successful photography. Neil will show you how your composition can be improved by implementing a technique known as 'the rule of thirds' which artists have been using successfully for centuries.
f22 photography workshop's provide unique learning experiences at impressive locations throughout the UK. All our group workshops are limited to five people, guaranteeing each person receives quality, one-to-one tuition throughout the day. Neil's personable approach and working knowledge of photography help to make the workshops a positive experience for everyone who attends.
Neil's workshop is outstanding, I would highly recommend it. If you are interested in a personal, interesting, informative day where you will achieve photos like you have never taken before, Neil is the person to contact. I learnt so much during the workshop and Neil's 'there is no such thing as silly question' attitude meant I asked every question and got an answer to all! You will have an amazing time taking photos during the workshop and learn skills you will use forever.
